Jack Shull, Senior Advisor
Jack divides his time between St. Stephen’s School in Rome as Head of University Counseling and Senior Consultant with Global University Advising. He has worked at six other International Schools during the past 35 years as a University Counselor in Norway, Belgium, Thailand, Egypt, China and Taiwan. In his role at an Independent Educational Consultant (IEC) with Global University Advising Jack advises students who attend American, British, German, French, Italian, Chinese and other educational systems, guiding and counseling them through the university search process and supporting them in making successful university applications. Students have had university outcomes that were gained through open, ethical, and knowledgeable advising by Jack.
Jack has given numerous presentations at international conferences, written articles on college admissions, and developed programs and workshops for international students, who wish to study in the US, UK, Netherlands, Asia, and other parts of the world. Jack is a past-president of the International Association Association of College Counseling (IACAC) and has been an active member and a committee member of the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC). Jack also teaches for UCLA Extension in the ‘College Counseling Certificate’ program. He holds a B.S. in Psychology and Education, a M.S. in Counseling and Guidance, and an Ed.S in Education Administration with a concentration in Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota.

Christian A. Shull
Christian was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, before moving to Cairo, Egypt, at the age of eight. He has lived abroad throughout Africa, Asia and Europe for over 30 years. He attended St. Olaf College, a liberal arts school in Minnesota, where he received his bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Business Management. After he graduated college, Christian was an educator in international schools throughout Thailand and Taiwan and worked as a university guidance counselor in Shanghai, China.
For the past Six years, he has been living in Madrid, Spain, where he received his master’s degree in International Education at the University of Alcala de Henares. There he also published and presented his thesis concerning the career and educational choices of Adult Third Culture Kids. He has also presented his research at the Annual Families in Global Transition conference in 2021 and at the International Conference on Bilingual Education in a Globalized World in 2019. Most recently, he received his certificate in college counseling from UCLA with distinction, where he completed his practicum at Education U.S.A, a state department sponsored program that gives guidance to Spanish nationals looking to study in the USA. He is also an associate member of IACAC and IECA where he is part of the Global Team Committee.

Angelica Toumbas
Angelica graduated from Columbia University with a double major in Political Science and Creative Writing. Specializing in International Relations and Nonfiction Writing, she additionally spent a year abroad, studying at the University of Oxford. In addition to working as an editor and ghostwriter, she runs a literary fellowship program abroad. For five years, she has been tutoring and advising high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, helping them develop their voices, capture their stories, and navigate the admissions process.

Holly Grey
Holly has been working with secondary students in the U.S. and Europe for over three decades. As a former educator in public and private schools she has guided and supported students as they work together to identify areas of interests, coupled with academic strengths, and connecting the findings to a career need in the world and colleges offering campuses and programs to meet their needs. She has spent more than half of her career providing college and vocational counseling while helping students achieve the lives of their dreams.
Holly has honed her advising skills by building strong relationships with parents, guardians, and students, and by helping students craft a plan for life after secondary school. She has worked in New England, the Pacific Northwest, the South East of the United States, and Barcelona, Spain while visiting campuses small and large along the way. Her insight and experience as a school counselor, education consultant and independent college counselor offers her a unique perspective on the admissions process, one that serves the students she works with well.
She is a certified teacher and a school counselor, a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC), the International Association of College Admissions Counselors (IACAC)and has a master’s degree in school counseling.
